James Rhea and I can identify only a few
of these children, and the photo is puzzling because so many of the children
are younger than Terry and we don't remember that many youngsters living
nearby. However, we are sure that the boy standing and holding two
children, is Floyd Jones. The little boy he is holding in his
right arm must be his little brother, Philip Dutton. They lived
right next door to the Loves. That is Connie Grambling sitting next
to Terry and we think the child farthest to the left as you view the photo
may be Greg Grambling. There is another "older" fella in the photo, but that is not James Rhea. James
Rhea is l0 years older than Terry. I'll try to pass this photo along to
Terry and see what he can remember. Terry was the handsomest little boy, wasn't
he. He was and still is one of my favorite people. The little boy being held may be Janie
Herron's brother, Tim I believe.

My best guess is from the left -
Greg, Terry Terrell ( they lived two houses toward Sibley at one time), Janie
Herron, Connie, me, Paul Morgan. Second row from the left - I don't know
the baby, I think the boy behind Connie is Dan Wiggly (the youngest Wiggly boy
- Dan doesn't sound right), Philip Dutton, Floyd Jones, Keitha
Morgan.

20. This is Nolan Bailey
Class of 1957, taken when he was in the 1st grade around 1945/46.
21. Nolan Bailey is the cute
little fellow on the left;
Sherry Posey is the
beautiful blonde on the right...she grew up to be
Miss Bienville Parish and
Miss Holiday In Dixie. She was five or six years old
in this picture. Sherry and
I are cousins and this was taken at our grandparents
house. Her mother (a
Bailey) and my dad were first cousins.
The one in the middle is my little
cousin, who was around ten days older than me, Joyce Malone, a first cousin,
recently deceased.
This was taken from my memories of Miss Rathbun...
Here come my question's. I remember that
my first teacher was a "Miss Rathbun," who
I think had red hair. Heck, its
been sixty years, so what do I know (remember). Does anyone there know
more about this teacher, and does anyone remember being in the first grade
during 1945, at her school?
I still have doubts that anyone remembers me as
a first grader...must have been another little guy that was smart... ;-)
Someone said that they had a photo of the 1945
class, wish they could find it. That way I might not think that I'm
completely "crazy." :-)
